How it explode?
Bad battery. Operating vapes really stress out a battery. You're heating a rhigh resistance wire red hot by dead shorting a lithium battery.

If the battery is poor quality or damaged, this is a trigger scenario for it to pop dramatically.

There are plenty of published cases worldwide tho. Mobile phones with similar power supplies have killed by proximity explosion too.

You think this might be a government op ed to suppress vape culture?

Occurence too low, hope there can be a larger sample size to deter people from vaping

The batteries used in vapes are lithium polymer 18650 cells or gel packs. Vapes require unregulated cells because of the immense power draw, and lower quality or damaged cells have the potential to pop.

This fellow probably inhaled superheated gas.
does the current draw exceed portable fans?
many ppl use unbranded fans.

Yes way more.

Generally speaking for peak load.

Vape = Portable "hobbyist" cutting laser > High powered torchlight > Portable fan

The newly trending portable fans are just high RPM brushless motors you might find on a power tool or vaccum cleaner repackaged to move air. The load profile is docile.

Will it happen in spore?
Many probably still vaping secretly.
Probablity says "eventually".
Same probability also says aliens will eventually come.

The quality of vape BMS has probably gone up over time since we don't hear of them popping like celebratory firecrackers so often.

But winning the lottery is a thing.

PMD motors are another super high peak load scenario. Usually it is the ESC that lets go under load tho. Switching peak loads and handling all that back EMF is nuts.

The batteries more likely to pop during charging or after physical insult.

It is not unusual for a small battery pack to supply 100 to 200 amps in acceleration phase for a high performance PMD.

Till now government still monitoring on pmd?
Still don't mandate ban.
