Casemiro is in the final year of his Manchester United contract, 33 years old and it's fair to admit he's also past his pomp, but he is a crucial cog in Ruben Amorim's midfield.

Of the 20 goals United have conceded this season, five have come when Casemiro was on the pitch. The other 15 goals they've shipped have come without him. That pattern was clear in United's 2-2 draw at Spurs.

Casemiro was taken off with less than 20 minutes to go and United leading through Bryan Mbeumo's first-half header. Spurs then scored twice late on when he left the field.

Casemiro has an undeniable impact on United but Amorim's over-reliance on the Brazil international is a further reflection of the club's need to find an appropriate heir in midfield. United have made signing a new midfielder a priority in the summer, but they might need to accelerate those plans.

I have a Liverpool colleague who says Liverpool is the most successful English football club ever.

He emphasises on the fact that Liverpool have 20 league titles, 6 European cups and that we have one third of our trophy cabinet filled with Charity Shield / Community Shield.

How can I rebut him?
Lolx...
what is there to rebut?

It is what it is .
If success is determined by number of trophy won. Liverpool had won more.
Fergie always used the League Cup as an experiment to test out new players.. but Liverpool
will go out to win it in the 80s and 90s.

Me also stop to buy jersey since yr 2020
During my childhood days I every year cfm at least will get a home kit from peninsula plaza (if u know this place maybe u are same age era as me)
i think i only bought original jerseys once from their Online store when they had a price glitch. Managed to snag 2 for pretty cheap.

all other times my jerseys were given to me by a relative who bought them from Batam. Lol.

not gonna contribute more to the Glazers as long as they're the owners or have some shares in the team.

I see it more of RA giving the squad players and opportunity to stake their claim in the team. He knows Casemiro is in his final year of his contract and not getting younger...he needs to slowly allow the subs to get game time so that in the event that our main 11 is out through injury or suspension, those players are ready to step in.

Unfortunately they have not been performing when given the opportunity. This is down on the players themselves. They should be raring to go to prove that RA that they belong in the starting line up as well. Their mentality is not there yet when it comes to fighting for their place.
good interpretation...

but there are 2 ways to go abt..

1) Start the less regular players and if things dun work.. bring back the regulars.. this is to salvage the situation
2) If start the regulars and then bring in the non regulars with just a slender lead and ended up drawing or losing, it will be considered as throwing the games away with the wrong subs.

Unfortunately the team needs to get all the points before the most influential player of the season so far, Mbuemo goes for his country duty in the African Championship in Dec/Jan.

just my 2cts worth.

shift bruno to no 10 role as he is best in that position. shift cunha to striker and maz to right wing back when diallo leave. mount can take over mbeumo when he leave for african games.

MM is so injury prone.. sigh

Mbeumo will be dearly missed during that period.

Maz is leaving for African cup too to play for Morocco. he played in the 2023 edition

The entire right side which started against Spurs will be gone, Maz, Amad and Mbeumo.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noussair_Mazraoui

We would most likely see a right hand side of Yoro (RCB), Dalot (RWB) and Cunha (RF). Mount would likely go to LF where he has played in that position when he started.

Up front prob ZZ, if Sesko hasn't recovered from injury.

From the video I shared above, it does look like Bruno is starting to perform well in his CM position which is likely to be RA's long term vision for him as he starts to age. Much like dropping Scholes back to the middle to dictate the play.

Can Mainoo play there? Depends if he start showing his debut season performance which he still hasn't up to today under RA when given the opportunity to do so since last season after RA took over For a young developing player, it doesn't seem like his adaptability to different system is high.

dalot playing then expect to concede 1 or 2 goals per game.

Based on the number of league games played Man Utd had scored 1 goal more than Liverpool this season. Man Utd lost 3 times. Liverpool lost 5 times. Last season title winner is no better than Man Utd at this moment.

Saw it as 2 points dropped, due to the way we conceded the goals. Could've and should've done better, and to be honest, I really expected MatthijsDL to have done better with his experience and capabilities for that 2nd goal. I got a feeling he felt that way too, as the last minute equaliser seemed like a relief for him.

Whilst most of the subs were like-for-like, it somehow didn't translate into continued stability, because we seemed to be in control before the subs. Thought BenjaminS coming on would create extra pressure on the Spurs defence, but instead he looked more like a misfit.

Anyway, long wait till the next game. Hope the team spends extra time on the problems for the recent 4 conceded goals and find it in themselves to work on the shortcomings.

we have to find a way to stop conceding stupid goals or else it’s hard to win games
