is this considered as greed or tabloid trash ?

just sign a new contract last year and now want to negotiate a better one due to being more prominent now??

“..Mainoo signed a new contract last year which ties him to United until June 2027, but he has been in talks over a new deal that would reflect his status as a first-team regular and England international who started in the final of Euro 2024….”

Manchester United will listen to serious offers for any of their first-team squad this month, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe ready to make radical changes to overhaul their underperforming squad.

To make matters worse, Amorim could be about to lose some of his key players, with the club ready to consider offers for a number of key players. It is understood that young stars Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are now expendable, despite having been deemed untouchable under Ten Hag. As well as those three stars, the club would be open to serious offers for any of Amorim's squad - with no player off limits this month.

INEOS will not ring-fence any assets this month, meaning summer signings Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee could be offloaded after just six months at the club. Ideally, it would be overpaid and underperforming players like Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Antony who are moved on, but buyers for such players are not easy to find.

Ratcliffe is trying to follow Todd Boehly. Todd Boehly was able to change the Chelsea entire squad in less than 2 yrs. Ratcliffe will not be able to change the entire Man Utd squad in less than 2 yrs due to lack of funds.

A big club will never sell the best players. If sell Mainoo & Ugarte it will take Man Utd 5 or 6 yrs to find a solid central midfield combination. You build your teams around these players. Not trying to sell them.

Ruben Amorim was baffled as to how the same group of players who surrendered limply to the likes of Newcastle, Bournemouth, and Wolves could pull out a display like at Anfield.

Even Bruno Fernandes was upset as to why they couldn’t do it weekly and that brought the focus back to the core issue at the club, mentality and mental fortitude.

Manuel Ugarte didn’t have the best of starts at Manchester United as he joined under a manager who didn’t want him as the first-choice and a team that didn’t know what it was.

However, the heights he has reached so soon after Amorim’s arrival have gone beyond the most optimistic fan expectations. It hasn’t just happened by chance.

Manchester Evening News reports that Ugarte has been setting standards at Carrington by regularly being one of the last players to leave after finishing training.

He has undertaken additional gym sessions after training to get to grips with the intense pace and physicality of the league which gave him problems at the start.

He has come a long way from looking like a training cone in front of Micky van de Ven to bossing the Liverpool midfield at Anfield and his work off the pitch to make that happen should serve as an example to his teammates.

Manchester City look like a shell of their former selves after Rodri’s injury so it’s paramount for United to get a backup for Ugarte too.

The Uruguayan is a machine who rarely gets injured and as things stand right now, he is probably the most important player who makes the whole system tick.

Man Utd will have a good chance of knocking out Arsenal from the FA Cup the players are able to produce the performance that draw against Liverpool last weekend. Need to defend those corners very well & can't give away penalty.

Newcastle defenders all got the height to head away Arsenal's set pieces.

However, The Daily Mail revealed Chelsea are ready to strike if given the go-ahead and the Blues are currently viewed as frontrunners for Mainoo if he were to leave Man Utd.

And according to a fresh update from The Mirror, the fee that can prompt Man Utd to reluctantly sell the 19-year-old England international is £70m.

The report stated: ‘[Ruben] Amorim wants Mainoo to stay and only an exorbitant offer – in the region of £70million – would persuade United to cash in on their academy graduate, who has been at the club since the age of six.’

Of equal noteworthiness in the report was the bombshell claim Mainoo is asking for the mother of all pay rises before he’ll sign a new deal in Manchester.

Mainoo is understood to earn around £20,000-a-week at present. His existing deal doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027, though talks ARE underway between United and the player’s camp regarding an extension and pay increase.

However, the demands put forward by Mainoo’s representatives are sure to make Man Utd’s deal-makers wince.

The Mirror stated ‘it is understood Mainoo’s representatives are looking for £200,000-a-week under the terms of the new deal, which would put the 19-year-old midfielder among United’s top five earners.

He wants a contract that will give him 10 times his current salary.

But Arsenal set pieces looks really threatening.. everyone looks like certain goal, the defenders or keeper just throwing body to block the shots.. Score line didn't reflect the game :p

Ruben Amorim has handed opportunities to four academy players in a bid to shake up Manchester United ’s training sessions.

The United boss has decided to introduce youngsters Jack Moorhouse, Tyler Fredricson, Godwill Kukonki and Elyh Harrison to training at Carrington in the build-up to the match. The four academy players were spotted braving the cold on Wednesday alongside the regular first-team stars.
