This month's Singapore Savings Bond starts at 3.21% (Year 1). You can partially or fully redeem a Singapore Savings Bond on a monthly cycle, so their "worst case" liquidity is about 5 weeks. SSBs are backed by the full faith and credit of this AAA rated government, including the full interest schedule. Each individual may hold up to S$200,000 of SSBs.

Only try this if you want the immediate withdrawal (today submit today get monies cap at 10k) feature. I already test water using a token amount. Every day is about 10 cents but it did not move on Sat,Sun so this is still a lousier product compared to Fullerton Cash Fund but this withdraw take T + 3 so take note.

UOB one a much established player offers higher rate, as long as you have a salary credit and spend 500 on credit cards. MARI needs to offer 5% minimum for people to take them seriously.

Invested 12K in this Lion-MariBank SavePlus fund 3 days ago and satisfied with the return generated (Day 1 $2.38, Day 2 $1.20, Day 3 $1.19) total return $4.77 already good enough for me :) Onboarding was seamless and confirmation & return were quick!

Pro:

1. Buy before 7:30AM (T+0) order confirmed & start viewing your holdings and seeing returns the same day!

2. Instant withdrawal upto 10K daily. Beyond 10K withdrawal, expect to receive your cash within the SAME business day if your request is submitted before 7.30AM. Otherwise, it'll be next business day.

3. This Fund invest in diversified portfolio suits me. The other fund in my portfolio is Fullerton SGD Cash fund not bad too to earn some decent return :)

Actually since same day withdraw cap at 10K you no need put until 12K. The 2K go put inside Fullerton SGD Cash Fund better as that still give better returns.

Just to note if you buy on Sat,Sun the buy process take place only on Monday. The online screen also got put. But the return formula they count the days including Sat,Sun but weekend no buy, sell activity of fund.

To correct your note regarding No Sell of fund during weekends ~

The SELL of fund is available anytime including Non-Business Days and Public Holiday!!

You may want to refer to MariBank apps and i quote:

"Instant Sell Order, Up to $10,000 per customer daily, all sell orders will be automatically processed as instant withdrawals.."

"Order submitted on Today -> Amount credited to you instantly (Including Non-Business Days and Public Holidays)"

Thumb upz for instant liquidity availability!

try harder HuiShan, so obvious then you are a staff of Maribank

Returns in absolute numbers like $2.38, $1.20 but what's the annualized returns? Fullerton SGD Cash Fund annualized as of Friday 6th Oct is 3.7613% (from Tiger Brokers). And also Fullerton's management fee is amongst the lowest at 0.1%.

This is from Maribank's website:
** From 1 Jan 2024, the annual management fee of the Lion-MariBank SavePlus fund will be 0.35%. This fee will be factored into the fund's price, and will not be additionally deducted from your investments. The management fee includes fees for the ongoing active management of the fund, of which a portion is paid to MariBank as a distributor. **

If you're indeed a staff from Maribank Invest product team, you're literally encouraging financial illiteracy and paddling your own agenda to meet your own KPIs.

1. CIMB/SCB are offering 3.5% for CASA without having to jump though much hops (incemental balance). No timings to think about, can be withdrawn anytime any day with no limit of 10k per day.

2. MAS bills are trading above 4%, with Tbills around 3.7% levels (the recent one was 4.07%). This Lion-Maribank Fund basically crimps off a good 0.5% (or more) of returns in exchange for what? Ability to redeem early & instantly for up to 10k. Why don't I manage my own portfolio and split the proportion of how much liquidity I need with accounts in (1) above and build up a ladder with Tbills or even SSB.

3. Chocolate Finance (CF) offers 4.5% for the first 20k, guaranteed returns up until Jun 2024. Their value proposition is very similar to the Lion-Maribank invest construct, but CF allows instant withdrawal up to 20k. So if I preferred funds and was okay with the risk (not SDIC insured), CF would have been a better choice.

i see its 3.99% now. any bros tempted?
Isn't that a projected yield? And only for 2023? According to the disclosure Lion Global will start charging their management fee in 2024, so the net yield will decrease (other things being equal).

It has to be consistent and so far for me I put test water it is about 3.53% not bad got potential but Fullerton Cash Fund still better. I am monitoring this at all times. Instant withdrawal up to 10K is it's main attraction.

Still remember a reader in this forum say don't waste time on this investment instrument quoting it is just MMF until I corrected him they have a high portion to T-Bill besides the MMF. Later he quote back that is the mandate now but does not speak of future fund manager direction. Basically he want to win the argument let him win lor. I prefer to put a test water amount to see how it goes.

No I not going to post that reader nick in this forum give him face becuz some ppl really treasure their face can't hurt their pride and ego.

It's me btw. Happy to be corrected but like I pointed out, pls look into the fine print and fund mandate.

Just to be accurate, I said there can be high exposure to short duration bond funds, not even talking about MMF.

This matiinvest can mati like grab invest one. If you very free want to test water pls go ahead. I rather go do other things more worth my time haha

To be clear, I was wrong about the underlying investment (I said short duration bond funds instead of MMF as stated above), but correctly quoted the fund mandate which shows the fund manager can take a lot more risk.

Think it's good for all to be aware.
You can check the underlying funds. It's mainly short duration bond funds from lionglobal. It's higher risk than fullerton cash.

People should look beyond the sweet wrapper and see what they are actually invested in. It's that simple. Don't need to "try try" and invest for the sake of comparing returns. Just. Look. At. The. Underlying. Investment. And. Assess.

Don't waste time spreading your investment for the sake of trying to get the returns. Returns don't explain anything.

Yes you are right for now. Have you seen the fund prospectus and the mandate given though?

It clearly states that LGI has the right to invest in up to 100% of the fund in LGI funds, and they can maintain a weighted duration of 2 years or less.

That's the level of risk you have to eventually be comfortable managing. Fund size is very small now. Later on they may just add more LGI funds.

2 Investment Approach The Sub-Fund’s approach to enhancing income while providing liquidity is to invest in a high-quality portfolio of debt instruments diversified across varying issuers and tenures while maintaining a weighted average portfolio credit rating of BBB- or higher and a weighted average duration of 24 months or less. The portfolio’s base currency is SGD. The Sub-Fund may invest in a range of debt instruments including bonds, notes, bills, deposits and other debt securities deemed appropriate by the managers. The obligors of these instruments include but are not limited to corporates, sovereigns, supranationals, government agencies and financial institutions. We may use FDIs for such purposes as may be permitted under the Code and subject to compliance with the limits and/or restrictions (if any) applicable to Excluded Investment Products and prescribed capital markets products. The portfolio’s base currency is SGD and foreign currency denominated securities will be fully hedged back to SGD except for a 5% frictional currency limit (to account for possible deviations from a 100% hedge). Subject to the provisions of the Code, we may, from time to time, invest the deposited property of the Sub-Fund in other collective investment schemes that may or may not be managed by us and whose investment objectives are to invest all or substantially all of their assets in fixed income instruments or bonds. Investments of 30% or more into any underlying funds In addition, the Sub-Fund may invest 30% or more (which percentage may vary from time to time at our discretion) into each of: (i) LionGlobal Short Duration Bond Fund, (ii) LionGlobal SGD Enhanced Liquidity Fund, (iii) LionGlobal USD Enhanced Liquidity Fund, and (iv) LionGlobal SGD Money Market Fund. We are the manager of the LionGlobal Short Duration Bond Fund, the LionGlobal SGD Enhanced Liquidity Fund, the LionGlobal USD Enhanced Liquidity Fund and the LionGlobal SGD Money Market Fund. Our track record can be found under paragraph 2 of the main body of this Prospectus.
