Why drop?
Mkt movement. If the assets that mii holding drop in value, its unit price will drop too. Price drop in sep has been a regular trend based on my observation.

i am putting in quite a large sum into this fund (income) in sept. was wondering whether i should just lump sum it at the start or maybe put most of it into saveplus then withdraw every 1-2 days to transfer into income

Should be spread out and purchased in tranches rather than in one lump sum. This will help to hedge against fall in the fund price. However, if you are lucky enough to buy in one lump sum at the lowest price, it will also be good, but that will be highly dependent on luck. This is just my personal opinion.

Ideally, u should put in when the price is low. However, it is quite volatile. Just make sure to buy before 2 days before payout date to get the payout.

I observed that the fund price tends to fall after the payout, but will increase again subsequently. If this is the price pattern, selling at the beginning of the month is correct.

my understanding of the mechanics of the fund is the monthly payout is guaranteed at 6.6% pa

however principal will always be reduced

so the net return should be around 3-4% depending on the performance of the underlying assets

based on this, the performance should be ahead of mari savings and save plus long term if you are willing to take some risks of a potential drawdown
Here's an article that may help us understand these funds.

With effect from 16 June 2025, MariBank has introduced additional security measures to better protect you and keep your money safe.

These enhancements are in line with the Shared Responsibility Framework developed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Infocomm Media Development Authority.

This is implemented back in June, you have done 30k without needing to go through that colorful face recognition. So is all good 👍 I somehow can fail that many times due to lighting issue. I felt giddy shortly after. I try to avoid face recognition as much as I could.

But how do we see if its low?
Let's say if we buy on Friday price before 3pm. So does it mean we lock in Friday nav? But pimco doesn't display and update the price daily right

Don't think prices for Funds are ever locked in. We have to take a risk as we will never know the price we bought until they posted it few days later. Same goes for selling.
Not only for Pimco. Everywhere else the same.

@alanchia67 did share a trick though.

Usually my trick in getting the best NAV price is to compare the actual value from the official site (such as PIMCO) and compare the platform price (for example Mari Invest Income). There is always a lag.

I'll buy when the published price from official site is favorable. By the time the broker/platform execute (either T+1 or T+2) will usually match the official NAV.

I have more success using this method, for other Unit Trusts too (such as Amundi PRIME USA SGD).

Yeah that's the one..
Yah.. 2 things i don't like are

1) they keep spam me credit card promo though i don't own their cc.

2) Singpass Face Recognition goes red blue yellow orange purple until makes me giddy. Worse is they can't capture correctly and have to redo all over again multiple times on certain days. Before it goes through, i already black out. :(

my payout taking more than 2 days to be completed
29 aug 12.50pm order submitted
1 sep 11.58am order confirmed
expected to be completed by 3 sep
Your selling price is based on the fund price for 1.9.25. Not sure why it is taking so long to update. Now is still showing the fund price for 29.8.25. Hopefully, you will get a good price.
