Taekwondo & karate's patterns training good for general exercise. Easy to practice on their own at home.

Judo, aikido & jiujitsu has lots of contact, which usually only happen during the classes at the dojos.

Aikido might be too cheem for young minds...but with a good teacher & prodigious ability to absorb coaching, there would be children who will excel in it.

My gals are enrolled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Will swing them to kick-boxing when they are older.

karate/judo > TKD > jujitsu. forget about aikido.

but in sg context, prolly TKD coach ish the easiest to find.

for self defence? just go for mma. all the different techniques including muay thai. mma is king

Practical reasons to why your kids will enjoy tkd more.

Grading every 3 mths. This means that they will learn new things every 3 months.

The belt promotion means gives them something to look forward to. Keeps them more interested and motivated to learn and to stay on. Do note this is a very important and useful factor. Self motivation is what make your life easier.

Lots of peers learning together. They will have fun.

It's a cca that moe recognised. If they get a junior black belt, they can get recognised by moe. Do note that this is the only martial art in Singapore that's recognised by moe.

dun think too much as self defense for young kid.. just need to let them learn street smart.. getting into fight in sg is a stupid thing to do... u are law bound..

But getting them martial art as a form of discipline or exercise will sound more better..For karate and tdk not a bad start for them usually is sport type hence hitting the head with fist is no no .. u can choose within convenience of your place if have and cc usually not that expensive

mma and MT for teenager and young adult will be better
