A friend accidentally received a business payment on his personal account (he forgot to give the company account number) and his account has been frozen by MAS for 3 months now. How long does it normally take to un-freeze??

MAS freeze bank accounts is a very serious matter, usually for money laundering investigations. I doubt is so simple as give wrong account number.

I had corporate accounts frozen cause I refuse to pay the estimated tax. But my accounts had little fund. IRAS also went for account that I had actually closed. So heck care.

That was more than 10 years ago and finally I deregistered the company.

Your friend or you not giving the real reason for the amount frozen and likely the amount is not truly his income.
