VII Formula look not much different from the Z87 VI Formula. Not much reason for me to upgrade.

Wow u seriously thought there will be major difference between z87 and z97 other than the m2 and broadwell support?

Nope. Just randomly saying. After seeing some visual changes to the Z97 boards like the Maximus VII Hero, was expecting a more beefed-up aesthetics treatment to Formula lineup as well but apparently not.

honestly specific to us formula owners... we already have m.2 slots so there's really no real addition on z97

Exactly, that's why Asus is the way to go.. All ROG mobo except VI Hero has the mpcie combo card.. Get new stuff early so we don't have to upgrade unnecessarily. You pay for what you get.. Save the trouble of selling off Z87 board for a Z97.

Lol.... Me used to like Impact. It was my fav board till I was crazy about Crossfire..... Then Now I prefer Formula.

Btw, when is Asus bringing in 295X2?

Hmm... Thanks for clarifying indepth didnt have any clue.

However there arent any really tested m.2 ssds yet so i wouldnt see a pressing need to upgrade.

The next big thing might well be pcie ssds though with the new intel unit
