the staff told me it takes 2 months to get the giro applications approved. Not sure would they approve my cc application. or just apply for giro thing first?

for giro application pls becareful guys.

maybank ibanking got a page where u can see existing giro arrangement. i tied my cimb cc to it and the giro arrangement appeared after like two weeks so i thought it has been linked so i didnt pay my cimb cc bill.

end up i was charge late payment as cimb say it only commence one month later, they did waived the late payment for me.

so maybe its good to put ur money in another high yield account first until ur giro started the deduction.

Need the billing organisation eg CIMB to acknowledge (via mail) the GIRO arrangement before the arrangement is considered to be completed.

yes this is a good practice, the recipient bank who will be doing the deduction has to confirm the GIRO arrangement is active

if not on your credit card statement it should indicate if the GIRO arrangement has taken effect (or you still need to make arrangements for the payment separately), so if there's any mix-up at least you have black and white proof to cover

If you combine income tax GIRO with salary credit and $500 credit card spend then you can get 3% of 50K on top of the income tax programme and credit card rebate. So you get more than 3%

Question is... with the income tax GIRO of $1000, one not only fulfill the month cash reward but also concurrently fulfill the criteria of Outward GIRO ("Services") of min. $300? i.e 2 rewards. If so, overall will indeed be much higher. Thanks

Yes only GIRO, pay bill is not included

If can then i wan to open the Maybank SaveUp account... unfortunately the CSO is unable to advise me on this

Try to write feedback form and ask. If Maybank themselves cannot answer, it is going to be hard for us to tell you also.

Income tax GIRO definitely is counted as outward giro. This I have asked already
