Hi guys,

I have a mbp retina (early 2015). Recently, i have issues with booting up after shutdown/sleep. The computer remains unresponsive to the power button and the screen remains black. Usually, it takes a random stroke of luck after several attempts before the computer finally turns on. I have tried pram and smc reset, and have reinstalled the os to no avail. I also realize that my trackpad is unable to depress at times.

The computer is slightly over a year and im currently out of warranty. Whilst it was on warranty, i have sent it once for repair due to intermittent black out of the screen and booting issue.

Not very sure what's the issue so advices are appreciated! Thanks.

EDIT: as it turns out, the trackpad gets stucks only when the mbp is turned off. on successful booting, everything resumes normally.

Most probably yours is Force Touch Touchpad using the Taptic Engine. Please read up on them.
