MC requirement - Pri 1 kid missing tests due sickness

Hi All

My Pri 1 kid has adenoid and sinus problems. At least once every 1.5 months he will be down with high temperatures, blocked stuffy nose, severe cough and sleep disruptions at night. Each episode will last for 3 to 8 days. According to doctor nothing much can be done now and hope he gets better as he grows and adenoid operation is not recommended now.
I have all medication on standby and try my best not to see doctor, as he gives the same medication each time.

His school requires MC whenever he misses tests. Visiting GP everytime costs at least $80 each time. Seeing doctors at polyclinic is not only far but the waiting time is unbearable during sickness; also we have to take leave to go polyclinic.

Does other schools have the same policy? Why can't the school accept a letter explaining absence from the parents?

Appreciate any advice from parents. Thank you.

why your GP cost so ex.. i bring my kid go normal GP consultation is around $30.. medicine extra..

Raffles clinic $80 is with medication.

Next time I will just ask for MC and those medicines I don't have.

I feel something is not right in our system.

The MC is to inform the school that the kid is not medically fit to go to school and take the tests by the doctor.

If schools accept letters to explain absence during tests, I wonder how many kids would turn up for the tests?

Book appointment at polyclinic to reduce waiting time.

You dont hve to go to Raffles Medical if you find it expensive.... lots of cheaper GPs around.

You can go in to a GP and just ask for an MC. Say you have all the meds at home already.
