get a nice keyboard mate....I just got the cm storm activ lite at Comex for 158...Blue switches cause I needed one for typing....not gaming....It is such a satisfying experience typing on this.....Worth every penny if you ask me....

I could have got the blue switches for 128...CMStorm TK I think....should have given the same experience but that came with the numpad....bigger foot print... This one does not...compact, small yet full sized. Suited me just fine....

Not all mechanical keyboards are equal. Newer release one are not necessarily Cherry MX switches anymore

CM Storm QFR-i Available for 139$ (or thereabout) from PCT.
Nice lighting modes, built well and much much much improved rubber coating.

consider getting the BROWN switches, they are a good compromise between the feel of the BLUE switches and the silence and smoothness of the BLACK switches.

Big mistake to buy browns. It's very much a "hate" switch than a "love or hate" switch like a Blue.
Mushy, wobbly and the bump just ruins the experience, rather buy a red.
hi, where can I get the ducky and the china brand u r talking about?

Eg. Keycool they also still have original MX switches. Better built than tesoros

Well I must say I should have added YMMV, for me and my experience BROWN switches are good for BOTH gaming and typing. but then again it all falls down to your preference.

Also, the TS did mention his concern for the noise, the main reason I suggested the BROWN, if not then BLACK is the next best thing.

Anyway I suggest the TS to go down to a shop, they will have display keyboards of different switches for you to try for yourself. take all advise here with a grain of salt and only use it as reference. trust what you feel is good for you when you demo the switches yourself.

Rosewill RK9000, CM Storm Quickfire XT, Filco Majestouch 2.

Brown and blue switches are my personal preferences. Green and black is too heavy for long hour use.

I would say get blue switches and then get o-ring dampener to reduce the sound. The feedback from it is very nice, unlike brown which is quite mushy.

But even then, the feeling varies from board to board, not just from switches to switches.

Generally costar stabilisers (the ones i recommend) will be better as long as you lube it enough as compared to the cherry ones because the latter feels mushier unless you cut off a certain part (troublesome).

I have two mechanical keyboards, both CM Storm, one at home with blue keys and one in the office with brown keys.

I chose blue keys for home use cause I like the clicky noise and I like the bump. I chose the brown key for office cause it's quieter and it still have the bump feel. Judging on feel alone, the blue keys still feel better.

Noise wise, I don't find the brown keys any noisier compared to the cheap membrane keyboards that my colleagues use. In fact, I think mine might be more bearable because the noise is.... lower in tone/frequency.

I chose CM Storm keyboards because I'm really impressed with their robust constructions and the reasonable price tags that come along with them. You may want to consider buying from Amazon as they could be cheaper.

I randomly walked into a Funan shop and they have a demo set of cherry keys for testing. Just one button for each switch, but can give you a good idea how each feels like. However, you may only find the more common blue black brown and red to test, more rare switches like green (which I'm very interested in) may be harder to demo.

Yes, so that is a choice that you have to make haha.

Sometimes, Amazon may sell an option that you may not be able to find in Singapore. For example, CM Storm keyboards may not be available in all switches, sometimes, they only stock the more common black blue and red. That's why I bought my Stealth brown switches from Amazon.

Hey bro, you can go to Xtreme Solutions at SLS, #02-21. They have a few full sized mech keyboards for you to test the keys, not just single keys to try.

Test all the different types of keys first before buying :D
