Hi! I found this thread here looking really active and I would be really appreciative for some help here regarding the situation that I am in. :)

Being a NSF in a combat unit, I suffered a freak injury (Like from a fall from a run?) on my ankle in the beginning of the year and I had to undergo an operation as a result. Since then, I have been on MC, and my doctor at a government hospital has recommended a perm. downgrade in PES status to C9L2.

As I have been out of action for so long, will there be any consequences due to my long term MC? I heard of cases where the unit will force people like me to extend their ORD dates, or give unfavourable comments on their ORD report.

I have also heard about applying injury reports and seeking compensation. I know it's really weird to do so since the fault is not really SAF's, but is it still possible to do so?

Myth.

You fell during a run while training? or outside?

Hi, for your morning run in camp, was it according to your schedule given to you? As in, did you run for leisure, when you were supposed to be sleeping, or is it a morning PT?

Always, always file for Service Injury as soon as possible, so that even when you ORD in the future, you can still use your SI card to make claims. NOTE: The SI card can only be used in Government hospitals. If you go private, you will not be able to claim.

As for forcing you to sign VES, not very sure about that. It's up to your unit, i guess.

I remember if ur injury is sustain while going to camp, going back from camp, or during training, you can file for an injury report.

I fell and was injured during training, my pc n oc filed a service injury report for me. When i was posted to my new unit, my new unit submitted it for me, i got a service injury card stating that mindef will pay for medical fees related to the injury.

As for compensation, it is called permanent disability compensation, the doctor will access ur condition according to a guideline. It is something to do with ur range of motion after the accident.

Rmb to file for service injury as they will help u to cover for your medical bills even after ord if you do manage to get a SI card.

And no , if they try to be funny and "tekan" you , you can feedback thru the NS hotline. Don't be afraid to skip the chain of command.
