Hello, I'm planning to go NS soon and I know we all have to go for this medical checkup before they sort us into whichever PES we will be, during the checkup will we have to be stripped naked? And if we have to, will it be done in front of everyone or in a private room?

You'll only be going top naked at last few station where your ECG, body weight and height, body fats are measured. In the room with just the MO, you're required to undress your pants and expose your genitals. This is to verify you are a true male, as well as to detect inguinal hernia.. No worries.. :)

You will be topless in a room full of others who is also topless to check for heart murur .. don't worry. the part where you have to pull your pants down is done only in a private room with the MO. The waiting time is long though.

Sometimes inguinal hernia is often undetected until it's incarcerated.

therefore by coughing, the cough will push abdominal contents downwards. If a person has an inguinal hernia, the sudden protrusion and intrusion of intestine at the inguinal area will be observed.

Yup, this is the point of cough..

Even though this is a valid reason why we need to pull down our underwear but why do we need to pull down to the knee to expose the penis? I believe they so somehow check something on the penis.

Anyone has better idea?

My friend who is signing on, told me that is to check whether the individual has any tattoo(s) ard the penis area. Not sure how true this is.

the more they check on your penis. simply means the more they suspect something wrong w it.

if u are gay, your penis wont move when u cough.

Sorry to bumps this thread but I just received the letter to go for medical screening.
I'm now in 2nd year nitec, graduate this year december.

Will we be required to do IPPT? Or just some general fitness tests??
And do we report in sports attire or shirt & pants than change to sports attire?

Asking because I haven't book the slot yet, planning to go together with my friends. And after i graduate they will send another enlistment letter which I can defer for poly right??
