I have just upgraded to a new build with 8GB DDR4 2400 Gskill running on Win7 Ultimate 32bit. While Windows system can recognize 8GB, the task manager only shows 1.2GB physical memory and 6.9GB under Hardware reserved. I'm using integrated graphics on Intel G4560, and allocated 1GB to it.

Is this a Win7 issue and what can I do?

Win7 32bit is limited to 4gb of ram. If your PC is able to support 64bit, you have to reinstall windows and upgrade it to the x64 version to fully utilize your ram
