I got a new laptop recently.
Came with 8GB Samsung DDR3L CL11 RAM.
I bought another stick 8GB Crucial DD3L CL11 RAM from Amazon.

Ran Memtest86 6.2.0 (Parallel in 5 passes for the 2 sticks installed together) and had a single bit of error.

Test Start Time 2015-11-01 01:51:20
Elapsed Time 7:21:49
Memory Range Tested 0x0 - 42FE00000 (17150MB)
CPU Selection Mode Parallel (All CPUs)
# Tests Passed 59/60 (98%)
Lowest Error Address 0x1A7E65EC8 (6782MB)
Highest Error Address 0x1A7E65EC8 (6782MB)
Bits in Error Mask 0000000000100000
Bits in Error 1
Max Contiguous Errors 1

Test 13 [Hammer test] 4/5 (80%) 1

[Data Error] Test: 13, CPU: 0, Address: 1A7E65EC8, Expected: FFFFFFFF, Actual: FFEFFFFF

Does it matter much ?

I ran into BSOD 'Kernel Security Check Failure' when booting up Windows 10 a few times, not sure whether it is due to this error.

But I googled and it seems it does not matter for home use?

Will be running more tests on individual sticks and also on Memtest86 v4.

Memtest is a very straight for thing.
If you encounter any errors when running it, it is very obvious the module is faulty.

Min run 30 mins

Also do not run it on top of any OS.
Just boot from some Linux distribution CD or hiren CD and run the test.

Ran Memtest86 on individual sticks for 5 passes each, Round Robin, no errors.

Also ran the 2 sticks together for 4 passes, Round Robin, no errors.

So the error for parallel in my first post was a false positive?

Now is your Win 10 boot still has bsod?

Now don't have liao.
Previously it bsod then restart by itself before it is ok. Experienced several times like that.
But now don't have. Maybe it was software problem.
