SKII is best known for the Facial Treatment Essence (FTE) containing pitera.

Yes, tried SKII Men before. The FTE is basically the same as the women's version; believe difference is the fragrance only. Women's version is available in larger size though, which is somewhat more economical. You can check out Sunnanz where prices are lower than retail outlets.

SKII doesn't give me tangible results though. Am now using a skin care range from China that works really well for Asian skin.

Can share what is the new range that you are using? I tried SKII and didn't see effect too. $100 down the drain haha.

Don't want to come across as 'advertising' products when I am not. The range consists of facial wash, rejuvenating cream and moisturising masks. The rejuvenating cream works really well for acne, as well as making skin tone more even.

PM me if you want to know more details.

If you get quality facial products, no need to go for facial as everyday is like doing facial. Don't just go for branding, look for effectiveness.

Ive been using skii essence for about 2 years now. At first i hated the smell. I still dont like it much but it wears off quickly. Its really good for my skin though so stuck with it despite the price tag. One bottle lasts a really long time so is ok

I combine with a moisturiser i got from Gangnam Laser Clinic and this has been the best combination for me. The moisturiser leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth after i apply so am onto my second bottle of that too.

Will prob stick to this combination.

I have tried the skii moisturiser but found it too thick and it gave me acne! Stopped using it.

I guess the message is just find what works and stick with it

True, whatever works best for you. Every product reacts a little differently to individuals.

One tip on moisturizers, especially if you have oily skin. I find it best to moisturize at night only, when going to bed. I find that moisturizing in the day, coupled with our humid weather, just creates a mess, with skin becoming much oilier or pores getting clogged. I just apply a sun block for daytime use.

I find the moisturizers (tried a few types) from Biotherm Homme to be quite good.

Anyone have any recommendations for eye cream or serum? Have some fine line n dark eye circle. Wanna try to get rid or at least improve the condition.

I am using La mer The Eye Concentrate and it works wonder for me. Might be expensive but 1 bottle can usually last for a very long time.

I finally found the formula to removing blackheads. Its like doing a facial but at home.

Use scrub to cleanse face first.

Then apply clay mask.

After washing off clay mask apply blackhead strips.

Apply toner afterwards.

I have some acne scars on one side of my face from constant breakouts in the last half a year. If I'm looking to accelerate the healing process (understand they will slowly fade away naturally), do I have to go for laser or are there products that can be used?

Believe there are typically 2 types of scars. One is discolouration, that is the healed acne area has a dark spot. The other is the pitted type, or 'holes' in the skin.

Discolouration scars should fade over time. Pitted scars do not. Treatment depends on the type of scars you actually have.

Another data point to share.

In sg, i get lots of pimple n acne outbreaks.

But when i lived overseas with low humidity n cooler weather, i hardly got any pimples.

Not sure if it is due to the weather and or food.

Sharing some of the lasers which I've done before:

1. Fractional co2 laser
An invasive type of laser. Mainly used to treat scars and pitted holes. Downtime is around 7 days. After the scabs have all fallen off, the skin was extremely smooth and the scars were lighten around 20%. Have to use sunblock as the skin would be more sensitive to sunlight after the laser. Recommend people with oily/ normal skin with scars/ pitted holes to try. I don't recommend for people with sensitive skin to try this.

Can just go for the cheapest one that you can find as this can be found at many aesthetics clinic. But be prepared for the long downtime.

2. Carbon peel laser
A layer of carbon liquid was applied onto the face before the doctor began the treatment. It's supposed to reduce oil production and tighten the pores. I didn't really see much result with this treatment. Might be due to the fact that I only went for 1 session and my skin wasn't too oily to begin with. No harm trying if you can try it at a cheap rate as I feel that this can replace facial.

Tried it at 1aesthetics @ west gate a few months back as it was rather cheap.

3. Dual yellow laser (aka combi laser)
It's a powerful laser but doesn't cause any discomfort. I use it mainly to treat my rosacea problem (skin flushes when it's hot). Have been doing this laser for around a year. Got to say that it controls my rosacea pretty well. For pigmentation, I don't feel that this laser works as well as the 2 other lasers mentioned above. Strongly recommend people with rosacea to try this laser as rosacea normally gets worse when we age.

Have been doing this at Drx clinic. Doctor was very nice to treat my entire face even tho the package that I signed was not for the whole face.

4. Skinbooster (aka 水光针)
This is not a type of laser, but it's a series of micro-injections that delivers hyaluronic acid 1mm under the skin surface. This is extremely popular in hk, tw and korea now. It's said that the many Korean actresses does this injection to get dewy skin. I've just tried this 3 days back. Can't really see the results yet. But for people who are interested, can google for simplistiq clinic @ marina bay link mall. This clinic offers the cheapest skinbooster (I know as I've called up most clinic that does the skinbooster to compare). They offer other laser treatments which are pretty cheap as well, but I've not tried them before.

Facial cannot treat ance/scars and at times it makes the condition worse when the beautician is inexperienced (speaking from personal experience). Furthermore, with aesthetics treatment becoming more and more affordable now, I strongly encourage you guys to try them out instead of going to facial.

For cost effectiveness, I think you can try simplistiq as they have an offer now.

From their website: Enjoy your first session of Venus Viva Nanofractional Radiofrequency from $160 (U.P. $480)!

Otherwise, Drx is very reputable (but more expensive). Can look for Dr Tsu.
