Narragansett Leathers (US)bridle belts can be had for 38 USD. had a pair from them, quite nice stuff for the $. they are made to order

Filson bridle belts about 50 USD

Anderson's (italy), Equus Leather (UK) price is in the 100-200 SGD range. Equus is made to order too i think. still got many more artisan makers to consider when u go look at the belt threads in styleforum

go for these if you want nice full grain or bridle leather. hardware is usually plain, nothing loud that screams branded (from those goldion logo to BB's cow to hermes' H)

usually 100sgd the most branded u can get is BB, duno simi leather also but its definitely embossed/corrected grain which i don't like. anything below $100 are usually the genuine leather nonsense u get at departmental stores, when they start to debond u can peel off the top thin layer because its glued on

only downside is all can only order online.

Have a look at MTO belts from SKYLAR Manufaktur - SKYLAR Manufaktur. You can request for different type of leather and buckle, to the color of you choice. The quality and workmanship is very high (eg using rendenbach for backing), and the owner provide good services and support.

Is just a belt

Like jeans, belt is a fashion thing and can be reproduced over and over again. Unless is a vintage branded piece, that is a different story. Choose a belt that suit the attire simple as that.

How do you tell the quality of the leather on the belt just by looking at it?
I've seen leather belts going from $100 - $500.
Designs looks the same... so I assume if different quality or the brandname.

But how do you see the diff and determine if its worth it or not?

Those belts without the holes.

i had one automatic belt myself wearing it now. From alfred dunhill. Pretty ex. But need to be careful with the clip though. The knob Gets spoilt easily even though the clip itself made of carbon. More for lazy people & basically can adjust to any waist size u desire. But not for longlasting usage.

Any recommended brand on the more affordable price range?

I bought my briddle leather belt from Leather goods connection and Filson. Have to ship via comgateway. Quality of the belt is so good, probably can last a lifetime.
