Micro ATX vs ATX board

I personally think big chassis is a waste of space. I have a mix of micro and mini itx pc mostly. Small, quiet and minimalist is more aesthetic, no bling bling, minimal fans, no mesh that attracts dust. But that's just me.

Aesthetic wise atx looks more nicer to see. But there are high end matx board like Asus do looks good.

Well it depends on your needs. Matx has more pcie slots and 16x slot for GPU. Possible to have 4 way multi GPU. Whereas matx does not.

If I'm not wrong matx lacks msata support also.

And iirc matx board lacks of power phrases than atx board. But there are budget atx board that has lesser power phrases also.

Can go with mATX if u dun need to put that many expansion cards.

If not, then go atx.
if not, then go matx
If yes:
- Do you need a dedicated sound card?
If yes, go Matx
If no, go mini itx

BTW, Asus Max VI Impact is itx and has sort of a dedicated sound card also.

The implications i can think of for getting ATX, you certainly need a bigger budget.. for e.g. u need bigger chasis, bigger/more fans etc the poison increases !

I would suggest get ATX motherboard, bigger the better and more satisfaction. Last time I was using Micro-ATX, lasted me like 4 years. But then it got burned I think. I had to change display cards and use low profile cards. So now I on ATX, running very smoothly, no issues at all.
