Micro SIM card

Does Singtel charge customer from coverting normal SIM card to micro SIM, if yes how much do they charge?

I am thinking of using a phone with micro SIM and a weekend phone with normal SIM, what are the converter available for the SIM card?

Go Sim Lim Square, get someone to cut the normal SIM to micro SIM. Won't cost more than $5. Then either look around in SLS or even go to Popular and find a micro SIM to normal SIM converter.

SingTel doesn't charge if you use the above method. Don't swap your normal SIM for a micro SIM, waste time/money.

If your current SIM Card is old enough (I think they classify SIM cards above 3 years old as old), you can call 1688 and request for a waiver to change the SIM Card. This was what I was told by the SingTel call center guy.

I got mine exchanged for free recently too with the above method. Hope this helps.

Cut as in physically trim the normal sim to micro size? Is there such a service available in SLS? Any shop have such service?

Singtel still say cannot change. If change need change number.

Only way for Prepaid is to port to other service provider then port back. 2 way jump.

The cutter costs around $10 and comes with 2 adaptors. I bought mine in one of the shops at Level 4 in SLS. I think there are places which sells for less than $10 though.

i brought microsim cutter online for $6.5 and it come with 2 adaptors. Go sls to cut, might as well buy one and next time can cut it again.

If you don't mind taking the risk, then the cutter/beng shop option still ok.

SingTel don't and won't do that. $37.45 for SIM replacement or no talk.

now singtel is issuing the new 3 in 1 sim card, can use as normal sim to nano sim. So its kinda just a one time charge for all your future devices.

cutting the sim will involve the risk of spoiling the sim and that your cut sim might have jagged edges will allows you to insert the sim but difficult to remove due to the edges. You can try cutting it, but your risk of spoiling the sim slot module will render your repair cost high..

Prepaid SIM cannot change SIM card. That is correct.

SingTel changed my 2010 Prepaid 2G/3G Sim to 4G 3 in 1 Sim last year FOC. Over the phone say need to pay. But the amount will become your credit. Need to went down to SingTel shop. Went there and they say my SIM card very old already. Then they changed it after photocopy my IC.
