Hi,
I bought a Samson Go Mic via Amazon (forwarded by Ezbuy) a week ago. Now laptop no longer detects the mic. No warranty.
Brought it over Sim Lim Square, looking for a shop that could fix it. Almost all shops declined to fix, except one. After 5 hours, replacing usb port, soldering some wires, etc. concluding the motherboard has problems, mic is still not working. Still tried to charge me 30$, negotiated down to 10$ :s22:
Any advice on what I should do now? Any shop that can fix this? Or should I buy another mic locally with warranty? I can't find any local shop selling this mic :(

Aiya, why you go and resort to chapalang repair so fast.

1 week purchase from Amazon, think got good chance of getting a 1-1 replacement from them IMO. You can still try to contact CSO, they may not ask you to send back the old mic if it's not a very exp item and not worth the postage to send back.

Got link to item? See the reviews if got other reports of early uplorry also.

If amazon CSO said no, then you can also consider RMA directly to Samson: https://www.samsontech.com/support/return-authorization-request/

The local distributor for Samson products according to Samson website:

e3 Audio LLP
Block 8, Lorong Bakar Batu #05-06
Kolam Ayer Industrial Park
Singapore
348743

Phone: +65 6352 5586
Fax: +65 6356 3665

Email: e3audio@gmail.com

Countries served: Singapore
Brands represented: Samson Audio, Samson Wireless

Dunno if they do repairs, they may for a fee since you have no warranty. Or maybe they can help RMA for a fee... etc

But now that you've tried a 3rd party repair, I dunno if they will still take in or not.

The other shops were right, the last one just trying to earn a quick buck thinking everything can be solved by plugging things in and out. A quick check with a multimeter will already tell you whether soldering is needed.

1) Does Windows detect a new device upon plugging in? What shows up in device manager?
2) Does headphone out work, and is there any form of information for power/status on the mic itself?

Thanks for your reply. The thing is that I used ezbuy to ship the mic, so Amazon will not be responsible for refund or exchange (I did ask the CSO, and he said so)

When I plug the mic in, sometimes the indicator light turns on, but the mic does not show up in the device manager.
