Microphone for gaming

I will be getting a new pair of headphones (samson sr850) for gaming but it does not come with a mic. What kind of mic to get for gaming that will be decently clear enough and won’t pick up too much unnecessary noise like keyboard noises? Desk stand type or clip on?

Get this. I use it as well. It’s damn good for its price. No problem with gaming or general calling. Only thing is you have to attach it to headphones if you don’t wanna hang on your neck or wear on your head.

What about HyperX? Their headphones come with a mic and it's pretty decent.

Aesthetically, not very nice. But I only care about the functionality. The mic + 3.5mm female to female extended cable + Velcro, total around $10. Worth it imo.

Ya i saw that also but i kinda want to try open back headphones...bigger soundstage they say. anyways will the hyperx cloud stinger be ok enough?

Hyperx in general is decent. Just pray that the build is not rubber that's all. I used hyperx 2 which uses rubber and it degraded into a sticky mess less then a year.

Stinger is fully plastic so this shouldn't affect it.

there is a solution for it. My cloud 2 rubber also went into a sticky mess. googled the issue and was mentioned to use Ethanol alcohol solution. Found i have tons of bottles in my office. Clean it and that sticky rubber feel was totally gone. Good as new.

However the hyperX headband, the PU leather has peeled, same for the earpads. I bought the replacement headband, realise to change it, need to solder wires. Troublesome. So i just buy a new Cloud alpha headset and chuck the old Cloud 2 away in the box in my storeroom~

Because you didnt have me as ur teammate. I will rage quit because of the keyboard noise. Webcam mic will pickup every sound, it's terrible to be used in game.

So far so good. Might be slighty too sensitive, but i've bought another microphone foam, double the foam, double the isolation i guess?

Placed it above my monitor, not detecting sound from my speaker(Of cos cannot blast volume la), not detecting keyboard sound.

Plus point, can play with the echo to annoying the hell out of your teammates HAHA
