Microsoft Surface Book 3 Users

Hi guys, wondering is there any other Microsoft Surface Book 3 users here. As we all may have done our homework prior to pulling the trigger to purchase one. We would have come across bad reviews with a strew of notorious problem plaguing it. So far you guys have had any problems? do share your experience your specs how long you have been using it and what are the main reasons you got one. Mine is as follows:


Was using a tablet and a Laptop at work (Chef) i find it a hassle and heavy to commute with this 2 items. Tablet is for entertainment and laptop for work. So by getting this "Laptop" i can consolidate 2 devices into one.

Using for 9 months and counting.
13.5", i7 ,256 MB,16GB RAM Graphic GTX 1650

I was using the Surface 3 with Type Cover. It's a well designed tablet/notebook. I was using it without problems for 3 and half years until the ** in 2020. I left the power adapter connected overnight for a few weeks and the battery swelled. Microsoft does not provide battery replacement so I changed it at Sim Lim Square for $110/-. As the Surface 3 only has 4 GB RAM, I could not use it with Zoom so I decided to buy a new Surface Pro 7 with 8 GB RAM in Jun 2020. Performance is good but after 9 months, the system keeps shutting down like there was problem with its power system. I returned the device and a replacement was sent me. Service is good but the replacement was not brand new but a refurbished set. Within a month, Windows 10 keep shutting down the Intel Wifi 6 adapter. I had to reset the network adapter or uninstall and reboot. Till now (past warranty), it still happens occasionally although I upgraded with the latest driver from Intel. Microsoft Surface products are well designed but suffers from quality issues as they are produced by contractors. The next time I will just buy a Dell or Lenovo notebook. I don't really use the Surface 3 or Pro 7 as a tablet but I like that it is not bulky. I also like the Microsoft pen and the touch screen.

From iFixit video i saw on you tube, the bloating issue is more prevalent on the pro series as the battery is located right behind the processor. With the surface book it is not as bad given the bigger surface area, for the 13.5" the tablet portion is passively cooled unlike the 15" which sees both the key board and screen having a fan. So far i have not help much problems with my laptop yet perhaps due to how i use it, mainly email and microsoft office suites in the day and youtube at night (undocked). Now waiting with excitement for the launch of the Windows 11 which supposedly allow us to download android app directly but i heard from Amazon store only
