Anyone have any issues with screen violently shaking/jumping or able to power on but 90% of screen is black?

Have any solutions for me. My warranty is out and now using another laptop. Sibei sad.

The only option I know now is pay almost 700 for replacement from Microsoft. Otherwise gamble my luck with challenger and have to pay 80 dollar for diagnostic fees. Tiagong if only screen replacement also gonna costs me 500 plus...

It's a known issue. It randomly happens to some , but not to others. Some have issues even after screen replacement.

What should I do. Pay MS the fees to get it fixed?

U can try get Ms fix for u. But from users comments, there's like no real fix.

May not be a screen problem.

Do Goole for more similar cases, see how others resolve this issue.

To pay or not it's up to u.

Mine flickers after like two hours of idling irrespective whether with power cable or not.

When projecting to external screen, (extend), the surface screen flickers and the external screen is fine. Looks like the surface has become a dumb pc with no touchscreen.

The SP4 is almost sold out since the SPPro is out. if you have invested in the keyboard and has the pen, go for the SP4 M3 and continue using the spoilt SP4 with an external monitor at home, or if not too bad, continue using it when the screen is not flickering.

IMO, its not worth repairing - the SPPro i5 is not too expensive and you get 10% off for Teachers and Students.

It is not repairing for sure. Another couple of hundreds more can get you a new laptop. In fact, I will not recommend getting a Microsoft tablet or laptop. I have decided against buying a Surface Pro 4 early this year after reading all the issues with each generation of Surface product. In fact the below report further substantiated my decision.
