Hi,

I just bought a 13" MBA abt a month ago, after 3 weeks of light usage, i noticed the hinge were kind of loose whenever i lift the mba up, the screen/display will tilt backwards easily. Thus i went to the service centre to check it up, the technician mentioned that he will tighten the hinge, but after collecting back the MBA, few days later it is like back to normal.

Anybody encounter the same issue as well? Should i go back the service centre again? Are the MBA like this normal or it should not tilt back on its own??

Get them to replace the screen (hinges are part of the screen assembly).

You mean i can just ask them to replace?? They go thru the checks and tests themselves the previous time and den say just tighten the hinge.

How do i go about asking them to replace the MBA with a new set??

Suggest you call Apple customer care. Tell them that you already went to the service center but it does not solve the problem. Ask for a 1 for 1 replacement. Most likely they will arrange shipping to and from your house, or arrange for an exchange at a service center.

Oh. I just did this morning. They suggest me to go back to the same service centre and find the same person to review my case. But i didn't mention getting a 1-1 replacement. Damn! Tml plan to go down to the service centre le.
