Current rig is on the right-->

Salvaging PSU, Case, PCE-68 wifi, storage.

Homework done (Note Newegg pricing is individually in cart, auto calculated with GST and shipping of individual parts, anyway to make this cheapest shipped?):

RAM: G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) Model F4-3200C14D-16GFX $327 (Newegg)

MB + CPU: MSI X470 Pro Carbon +2700x $739 (Tradepac)
HSF: Noctua D15 + Mount $127 (Newegg)

GFX: Used 1080Ti $900ish / EVGA 2080 XC $1212 (Newegg)

Max usage: Gaming 1440p AAA games. Higher FPS the better, so consideration on overclock.

Anything missing? RAM need B-die for OC? Any other Mobo to recommend? HSF overkill?

The ram from Amazon is of a different ratings, that's why I wonder if b die ones are really the way to go?

Do we really need B-die rams for better OC headroom for more FPS for both AMD and Intel?

Yes. But depends. One you exceed a certain speed, you get diminishing returns. Meaning you will pay more for minimal gain. Typically, the threshold is about 3600mhz, especially challenging for AMD as their IMC is trickier to get high speed beyond 3200mhz.

If I dial down the ram, using only CL15s 3200mhz for Ryzen or Intel, I'll save around <$100, maybe in this case I'll save a bit and would better off getting a lower end 2080Ti which at least, it'll give the greatest performance gain than OCing CPU (notwithstanding also higher heat and TDP).

If daily use, am I right that a normal 3200mhz, I can just let the system OC itself and forget about it is not gonna hurt FPS that much?

By all means, go ahead. Plenty of ppl using 3200mhz for Ryzen and are happy, including me. Since you're getting 2700X, you can don't OC and just go into bios activate xmp for your ram, that's all. The boost clock can reach 4.1ghz for 1 or 2 cores with adequate cooling, which is fine for gaming.
