My 2015 budget rig died on me this week. It has served its purpose and time to put it to rest. I've a budget for under S$2.5K and looking at the below:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 $271 Amazon
MOBO: Asrock B550 Steel Legend $290 Lazada
RAM: 16GB (2 x 8GB) G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 288-Pin RGB DDR4 3600 $175 Newegg
SSD: Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD $206 Amazon
CASE: Lian Li O11 Dynamic MINI White $156 Shopee

PSU: Corsair SF750 80 Plus Platinum $275 Lazada
or do you think I can get away with a Corsair RM Series™ RM650 — 650 Watt 80 PLUS® Gold Certified @ $152

GPU: GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti VENTUS 2X OC - MSI S$??? Not sure about this one. I'm open to options as long as I don't blow my budget.

Will be taking a stroll by SLS tomorrow. Any particular shops would be a good stop especially for GPU hunt? I last got most of my stuff from pcthemes/tradepac.

The rm650 wont fit in o11 mini, only sfx and sfx-l psu does. Sf 750 is pretty much a good choice.

Also in april, lian li is releasing o11 mini+psu combo (it is cheaper than o11 mini + sf750) and add snow white color to o11 mini if u wan more options. But the new lian li psu has no reviews yet so u pretty much have to decide if u want to risk it.

My build is actually somewhat similar to urs and costs around 2.4k, so considering pc parts cost increases, ur build should cost around there. I do think u can do 5600x and 3060ti with that budget though, heard 5600x is starting to show up on amazon recently. Btw u have to budget in case fans as well. This case does not come with case fans.

P.S. Idk if any sls shops now sell gpu standalone. I think most or all of them wants a full build now to sell the gpu. I bought mine from amazon instead of sls cos of the situation.

in the current climate, better secure GPU source first before talk about other things. Already seen here and there people said they bought all components but couldn't get a GPU, end up selling again. So they sell at a loss without even using the parts.

PSU - 3600 is a 65W TDP processor. 3060 Ti TGP max is about 240W. You can run a 600W PSU and it is enough. I'm running exactly that on my system with i5 10400 and 3060 Ti. Do note that you can even go lower to 45W TDP with Eco-Mode on the Ryzen 5 (5600 confirm can, I dunno about 3600).

Wow thanks for sharing the launch news! The SNOW looks good for all white, but I'd still prefer a little black accent that the current model has. And yea, the PSU that comes with it will be a risky bet. Will skip it.

5600X - cheapest I found is $445 (incl tax) from Amazon. Works out to about $150+ additional to upgrade from 3600 >> worth it? or should I get a better GPU?

Fan - any recommendation? I'm partly building something aesthetically pleasing so that's a consideration as well. Don't think I need water cooling eh?

Nothing wrong with this build. 3600 remains a good value pick. But as others have said - find graphics card first then talk.

Beyond that, the Gen4 Sabrent is not a bad choice, but you can save some cash without losing much in the way of real performance by going with a decent Gen3 SSD instead. r/NewMaxx and other reviewers say the best Gen3 drive out now is the SK Hynix P31, that's $182 on Amazon, you can save even more by going for something like the Mushkin Pilot-E ($149).

I chose lian li unifans SL120 as my case fan.

5600x imo is worth it if u can squeeze in budget for it, it is a good pairing with 30 series gpu, but it depends on what resolution u play at.

If u aren't going water cooling, make sure u look at the air cooler clearance for this case, i think its on the smaller side.

And yes, first thing is secure ur gpu 1st.

You can even upgrade to 750W for less than S$2.7k.

My take on Ts' quote is if the GPU price (after subtracting the price of the other parts) is within market pricing, it might not be totally unreasonable.

Yeah, the price to paid for customization versus pre-built.

Anyway, I've received another quote with Ryzen 5 3600, 3060ti gigabyte gaming oc, adata Gen4 1tb NVMe gammix s50lite - $2570 incl assembly. Quite close to my budget.

What brand/model is the 3070? Anyway, $130 is roughly the difference you'd expect to pay between the 3070 and 3060 Ti, so I guess it's a case of which one do you prefer.

For what u have chosen it is like a few hundred dollar more than what i thought. To me, its a fair fully local price since local shops are chopping everyone's head nowadays anyway. A cost breakdown would be more useful by the way, if u can get it.

But most likely they are pricing that rtx 3070 at ~1.3k (which is kinda wtf for a retailer, even worse if its a 2 fan zotac model or something) judging from the price, the rest of the components worth at max 1.4-1.5k:

3600: 300
G skill ram: 150
Sn750 ssd: 200
B550 steel legend: 270
Sf750: 260
O11 mini: 165
Case fans: 50-100

By the way i hope that price includes case fan or else u nid add on 50-100 dollar for like a few case fans,especially if u doing air cooling, u must have side intake or the gpu will heat up ur cpu due to the way heat rises.

It may be expensive but my advice is see it as trading money for time and effort, to do it way cheaper u need to spend time and alot of effort to learn to snipe things off online, speaking from experience here.

Both quotes seem reasonable. Not the cheapest but nothing is these days. I'd go with the cheaper build unless you really want the 3070 (or unless it's a particularly good 3070 card)

Since it’s a budget rig, I thought u could trim the cost of the case and psu a bit. I’m using a 3080 and the focus gx850 which is about 200 works just fine.
