For LAN, you can consider RB4011iGS+RM, it comes with 1x 10G port. If you would like to have both 10G LAN+WAN, got for CCR2004 (minimum) or CCR1036-8G-2S+ (recommended). As for the cable and transceiver, there is no special requirement, just make sure it's 10G transceiver and suitable cable.

hAP ac2 will max out at around 860mbps. Wired model at similar cost without wireless interface definitely has better performance. What is your requirement? Right now, the most suitable for average use in SG is RB4011iGS+RM which come with 1x 10G SFP and 2x 5x Gigabit Ethernet.
hey Soragan(?) really need your website or lazada store to list prices and items and not having to ask where to buy certain models. there are interested but locally it is so hard to find stock. in the end, we all just go amazon. local sellers lose out and further dont bother about mikrotik and it becomes a vicious cycle...

hello.... thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately as a local supplier, it is difficult to compete in terms of price due to local costs and other various reasons. I will try to update as much as possible to our LazMall (we usually have weekend promotions there).

We also have TG Group mikrotiksg and announcement channel @mikrotiksgannouncement if you have any questions

Need Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S+IN users to confirm if I could use a pair of them, and use them as a 10G SFP+ media converter.

To established a 10Gb connection between 2 rooms using LC fibre via single SFP+ port and the single port (BOOT/ETH) 1Gb connected each ends of mesh router for ethernet backhaul.

Mesh router master and slave communicate at 1Gbps for internet, while local LAN, SFP+ port each in full 10Gbps. Room A's PC with 10G NIC communicate with Room B NAS (10G) at 10Gbps.

Buying list include 2 mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S+IN and Synology DS1517+, and fibre SFP+ cards and related.

Any network pro had better suggestion?

I felt 10Gb copper CAT7/8 RJ45 not so future proof, as LC fibre using same single mode LC cabling probably could achieve 40G speed without laying new cabling.

Brother TanKianW mentioned the new RB5009 in the other thread.

RB5009 series seem to be a good one to replace RB4011.

There are other shops selling as well but the delivery will be quite some time later. So it is probaly better to wait for the general availability.

Yes, it is possible. Do note that you could have packet loss between 1G and 10G port however no issue for 10G to 10G. I have not tested such setup with CRS305 yet.

RB5009 is GA and available in SG since early October.

Yes I know it is available in SG but the price is at S$371, much higher than the official dealer in China.

I think Unifi APs are more popular and you can use MikroTik router (probably better than UDM or UDM Pro) together with Unifi APs. Unifi 6 Lite and 6 LR reviews are pretty good.

pairing up your ac lite with mt router is good enough. this combo solves my wifi signal drop issues completely when it was a full unifi series setup including my router. furthermore, mt ap are not well known for their wifi performance.

Better for you to stick to Unifi APs. Read on MikroTik forum and you will know what I meant.

You can consider pairing them with the MikroTik's router. However, there is an "unfriendlness" learning curve to their RouterOS, be ready to spend time playing around with it. If you have use Cisco switches (the CLI ones), then it should be a walk in the park. It could be a good (plain) router, but if you want feature packed and advance customization with user friendliness, you need to look else where.

Personally, I only prefer their switches on RouterOS (OR light-weight SwOS for basic managed switch functions). Their firmware is lean and do not break as often as Unifi.

Their RouterOS interface......still looks ANCIENT!

Not sure if anyone is using the following MikroTik Wifi 6 router. The cost is quite reasonable.

hAP ax2: Quad-Core CPU ARM64 IPQ6010, 1GB RAM, 5-port Gigabit Ethernet (one with PoE out), Wifi 6 AX1800

The hAP AC/AX series can also be managed by CAPSMAN, so that's pretty cool that one of them can be designated as the AP controller, and the rest just added to easily expand the network.

Users can also add APs to their hAP, since they are very competitively priced. I've seen wall-mounted 802.11ac APs going for some $50-ish.

I've been testing a CCR for a few weeks now, and I like it quite a bit. The learning curve is there, but it's doable if one has a general understanding of what's happening. I still need guides tho, since I'm not fully familiar with the interface. I like Winbox tho, and its ability to connect to RouterOS via MAC address is pretty cool.
