in takeovers, the immediate company has to cough out $$. If they don't have it, means they have to squeeze investors for it. I suppose people are running because they are afraid of share placement or rights placement.

if it is beneficial in the long run, why not wait until mess sorts out first.
they already announced 1 for 1 rights at 34c... that's why lol

if buying for FA reasons.. especially on the takeover.. I rather wait for the dust to settle... like wait for the takeover to be completed and maybe the 34c rights to be issued first...

Thnks guys...i still have a lot to learn haha...btw the rights placement thingy the current investors can choose to want or dont want it right?as in they do have an option of accepting it or not right?

for rights placement, if you don't take it up, just sell the rights for some $$ but ultimately, it is compensation for the dilution of the share price.

If you take it up, can try applying for more and hope you get more at the discounted price. Then dump it on day one when you gotten the additional shares..works for yoma so far. Cant say the same for this fishy business. :D

my 2 cents.

Nam Cheong is the largest builder of offshore support vessels (OSVs) for Malaysian waters, and remains in a sweet spot with Petronas committed to its offshore capex plans over the next five years.

It has also extended its geographical reach to new markets like West Africa, which offer good potential in for the future.

In FY2012, the shipyard sold a record high of 21 vessels, backed by healthy recurrent demand for OSVs in Malaysia and overseas.

It has now also sold more than half of its 19 vessel build-to-stock models for FY2013. Its order book was close to the record level of RM1.5 billion in end-2012, and should drive healthy earnings growth in FY13/14.
Expectations for robust earnings ahead should help re-rate stock.

The analyst expects the following:
>> More order flows from Petronas-linked projects in Malaysia in 1H FY2013, as activity on the ground picks up steam.
>> FY2014 newbuild programme will be larger than in FY13, in line with the still robust outlook for oil & gas exploration & production activities
>> The S$110 million raised through its recent medium-term notes issuance will also help support growth.

SINGAPORE: Singapore's non-oil domestic exports declined by 30.6 per cent in February 2013 on-year, compared to the 0.4 per cent increase in the previous month.

Trade agency International Enterprise Singapore, said this is due to a contraction in both electronic and non-electronic exports.

Exports to all of the top 10 markets, except Taiwan, decreased in February.

The top three contributors to the export contraction were the European Union, the US and Hong Kong.

On a month-on-month basis, exports decreased by 2.4 per cent in February, following the previous month's 1.8 per cent decline.

On a year-on-year basis, total trade contracted by 17.3 per cent in February 2013, compared to the 1.4 per cent rise in the previous month.

Yes. the celebrity effect...Albert Hong is old friend of Peter Lim, He is the key man in this Iskandar deal. If he does not recover, there is serious doubt on the future of Rowsley. Although, people may argue that with Peter Lim and Datok's influence, thing may not be that bad... but don't forget that Mr Market is never that forgivng when it come to bad news, especially this counter shoot up to current level because of the Iskandar deal and the 2 free warrrants if this deal goes thru. without this, have anyone wonder what will be the current price now?
