Hi all

Friend is looking to get a new desktop. Any recommendations?

Budget:
<=$800

Usage:
Surfing net, watching dramas, light gaming: dont starve together, sims4, left 4 dead and etc

Requirements
- Preferably MINI iTX with DVD drive, had a jonsbo U2 but didnt fit a DVD drive
- SSD
- Silent pc
- Need OS, keyboard and monitor. Carousel is selling OS at less than $50, anyone bought it before and had good reviews?

Carousell just search Windows 10 sure can find one that matches the price you want. Hahaha.

Anyway, for casing I suggest getting Thermaltake Core V1 for $79. Easier to build.

actually how important is the DVD drive? the footprint can be much smaller without the drive.

That motherboard is not a mini ITX.

Mini ITX motherboard with WIFI
Gigabyte H270N WIFI or MSI H110i Pro AC

Silverstone does have some smaller ITX case. Go Cybermind and take a look. I settled for Node 202 because I was lazy to go to 2 different shops.

If DVD drive dun use often can just get an external one. My previous rig had a blu-ray drive and it has been used < 10 times over 7 years

At first, I thought $10 OS is a bit unreal.
I shelled out $150 for Windows 10. I thought ibanking needs the real thing. But I get the cheapo Office. Seems legit. Software from MS and key from them.

I believe you can still get them to install Windows as you don't need the product key during installation. Then within 30 days, activate it with the key.

They wun let u customize anything till u activate it.

I normally will delay activate until I test for several days. Got once need to RMA mobo, then this invalidate the license

Yes I know the constraints of unactivated windows 10. But my question is, is there a 30days deadline of which you need to activate your unactivated win 10? I do not know about this 30 days issue.
