Mini PC and single board computer

They look similar, the major difference seems to be mini PC comes shipped in a plastic/metal case, while single board computer like Raspberry Pi comes with just the board+processor alone.

Do they serve different user segment, use cases or purposes?

The main difference of the raspberry pi and other mini pc is the CPU. The raspberry pi uses an arm CPU while most mini pcs will have and intel x86 CPU.

A equivalent to the raspberry pi will be other x86 SBCs like udoo x86 series, lattepanda board, jaguar board etc.

Most SBCs will have gpio headers/pins while mini pcs will have mostly standard pc io ports.

Of cos there is a different.
One cost under $100 the other could cost over $1000.

Difference in Specs in General.
