IMHO.
I am thinking that these mini PC would be useful as a controlling computer for backup purposes.
Will they be able to run 24/7 ?
Also, anyone using them for server type applications?
these are consumer grade parts with no redundancies in place but they are fine with 24/7 operation until any part inside the enclosure decided to give way due to wear&tear or electronic breakdown.

I have a WooYi mini NUC from China running 24/7 as a DNS filtering server (AdGuard Home) and uploading/downloading machine, works well and can get up to 24 MB/s speed on a 500Mbps fibre connection.

Not looking at Asus Ally?

Nah, i not buying.. just see see only haha

Asus Ally will probably be more ergonomic because the d-pad is further.

All those small china brands usually don't pay attention to detail to such things haha.. you see his left palm need to flare out when using d pad, very awkward ergonomic wise.

That’s why I also waiting for the best one before hooting… ally comes close to that. China brand ones really looks quite blocky and lack support

any heat issues faced with the beeslink/minisforum?
Based on reviews, most of them will run within the threshold, i.e. in the 90s, if heavily loaded. Considering the cooling solution is pretty much in line with laptop design, so do expect high temps.

Seems like a good deal.

But their website or the amazon page does not state what HDMI output it has. There is 2x HDMI and 1 Type C for display out. If HDMI supports 2.0, then its great for 4K 60 + HDR + Dolby Atmos.

The Asus I bought to use as HTPC only had HDMI 1.4 and doesn't support 4K60. Luckily, Type C can be used with an HDMI 2.0 adapter to support 4K60 HDR + Dolby Atmos for HTPC function.
