What is AOSP?
Android Open Source Project. I think it's usually for Qualcomm-running tablets.

I think at its price range it's probably one of the better Android offerings. It has the same screen res as the iPad Air and iPad Mini 2/3 and one of the fastest processors out there. IMO if the Nexus 7 sold like hotcakes last year, there's no reason why this wouldn't sell.

Of course, I wish they came out with a version with 32GB storage and LTE as well...

nah, as long as it's "open sourced" you can built android for any hardware.

the problem is mediatek's source code is not open, nvidia is.

nexus 9 is running on tegra soc too.

Hmm but nexus 9 uses the 64bit version which has a different processor than the MiPad. Yep I guess if it's open source as you said then there shld be developer support, but then it also depends if there are more tegra tablets out there.
