I miss my father every day. He’s left us 2.5 years ago. It feels like just yesterday. He taught me to eat many dishes, some of which had become my favourite. I had to avoid eating them for a year until it didn’t feel so painful seeing and hearing them.

Father’s Day is a painful day to go through. It made me realise that I could have made friends without a father go through the same pain when I posted pics of mine

His passing also makes me wonder what’s the point in us being born at all if we need to face and live with the pain of losing our loved ones.

Every day I think about when I would die and the manner in which I would die and hopefully I can see him again to apologise for all the things I didn’t do or do enough for him.

They say crying it out helps, but it doesn’t when you miss him every day.

Use this opportunity wisely to reflect on the reality of existence.

Do you realise that one day when you are gone, your children will also be heartbroken? But that doesn't stop you from giving birth to them, right? We are so attached to pleasures that we forgot the pain in our life.

Today I went to see a doctor for an mc as I was unwell.

I broke down in front of the doctor and asked if there’s a medicine for me to take to end my life. I know it’s stupid to ask because doctors are not supposed to prescribe such medicines but living but wishing to die every day is too painful.

If I had known losing my father is so unbearable, I would never have calculated the amount of money it took to ward him at a better ward. I forgot that my siblings could afford to lose him but I can’t.

The doctor wants to refer me to a psychiatrist as he felt I have depression. I always thought I don’t have as my previous depression took on a different form but now I probably have to accept that it is depression.

understand how you feeling now as i also still haven't gotten over the passing of my father even though it happened 23 years ago. i till now will still tear up when i see his photo. now when i looked at my children, i often wonder how they will be spoilt rotten by him if he was alive now.
taking own life may solve your own problem, but you need to also think of the negative impact it will have on the rest of your family and friends. your demise might lead to others developing the same issues you are suffering now and the cycle continues.
i would suggest perhaps getting a hobby or go take courses to enrich your life and maybe it will take away a bit of the pain. there are also organisation that can provide assistance to tide you through this difficult period.

How do you get through 23 years? I work 7 days a week to keep myself occupied. Even then, I know it’s not a permanent solution. The doctor has referred me to a psychiatrist but I doubt it will help.

get a hobby, do anything to keep your mind occupied. different people have or need different ways to get over, you just need to try and try. don't give up. what you need is someone to talk to, go see a counsellor.

such wounds take time to heal especially when you lost someone you had beside you for decades of your life. occasionally talking and crying about it will slowly heal the wound. don't always think you are the only one who is in deep pain, i believe your mom and siblings are too, just that they deal with their pain differently than you. perhaps you should tell them what you are going through, family bond most of the time is the key to you taking some of the pain away.

I mean are u close with ur siblings?
Do they regularly keep in touch with u?
We are often in touch. Almost daily. But I often think that my father could have lived longer if I don’t have so many siblings.

Hi reiser, instead of seeing a psychiatrist, seeing a counsellor/psychotherapist would be a better choice. medicines are just to eleviate your mood, wont help you in the long run. let's talk if you're ok

I have been to counsellors for other matters. They didn’t help. Actually, psychiatrists don’t either.
