Missing files on DNS-320

Hi all, I'm using a DNS320 on firmware 2.03. Recently, I download a set of photos from my mac to the NAS. Then I tried to copy another set of photos (different file-names) using the same folder name into the NAS at the same path. Instead of merging both sets of files under the same folder like in Windows, all my photos from the previous copy all disappeared and only the new ones are available!

This happened quite a few times. What should I do to recover my old files? Please help!
