Previously StarHub "Star" SIM Only plans are not popular at all, now they seem to remove the "Star" branding even though the documentation on the web may not be updated yet.

1) StarHub SIM Only plan

2) StarHub Prepaid Plan (postpaid in reality)

3) giga

4) Eight

With the launch of the new StarHub Unlimited+ Plans, StarHub seems to kill the traditional 24 months contract plans with devices.

Rather you can buy Mobile phones from StarHub with 24 months installment or 12 month installment or one time payment.

For 24/12 month installment options you can use the DeviceDollars to offset the monthly payment. You earn DeviceDollars by sticking to the new StarHub Unlimited+ SIM Only Plans (except the 5G Lite plan which does not have the "Unlimited+" branding anyway).

1 DeviceDollar = S$1

All plans have free Caller ID and ScamSafe.

Other than 5G Lite, other plans come with Unlimited local data and Unlimited calls & SMS.

FAQ:

About 5G Unlimited+, 5G Platinum, Senior and Data-only

One important FAQ for DeviceDollars.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/support/article.html?id=lQjA75aBzk9JFr3cv90ve8

DeviceDollars & StarHub Dollars

17. How long can I accumulate DeviceDollars before they expire?

DeviceDollars are valid for 36 months from the date they were credited to your DeviceDollars wallet. Any unused credits will expire after the validity period.

Do note that your DeviceDollars wallet will be forfeited if you no longer have an active 5G Unlimited+ or Star Plan mobile line.

Anyways, it's a good start to see MNO finally enhancing their plans by integrating roaming data though not significant to their plans, which provides seamless connectivity in this day and age.
Of course, discounting the fact that SIMBA came in with roaming data provided generously to "force" incumbents to finally move on with the times, when compared to other countries already with such integrated roaming data options/allowance for a while.

Good wake up call for StarHub.

Good thing is that they are now pretty aggressive on both Mobile service, Fibre Broadband service and even PayTV side.

StarHub is giving out the best Fibre Broadband recontract offers among the big three, whereas M1 actually raised the price in Oct 2025.

StarHub has killed the 24 month mobile contract with device subsidies and replaced them with the new 5G Unlimited+ and 5G Platinum plans.

Eight is pretty aggressive in terms of SIM Only plan even though Eight 5G is not that competitive now.

Let's see how Eight Home Internet will gain market share or not.

StarHub giga may need a revamp.

The line is blurred, giga and eight services. I hope they will merge giga into eight. Both offer almost the same services. The data roll over on giga, is not that relevant after the data bundle become like 400GB to 1TB. Somemore eight also launched fibre, so eight is really like the sub brand. Just like MyRepublic Fibre.

Starhub own revamped plans also like 😒

Good idea to merge giga with eight. Let's see if that will happen or not.

As for StarHub's own revamped plans, I will say it is a bold move.

But I tend to agree with you that they are not really attractive since there are so many lower cost plans out there.

And higher spenders who like latest flagship Apple iPhones and Samsung phones may choose to leave StarHub as well because StarHub has no more 24 months contract plans with device subsidies. I highly doubt the idea of DeviceDollars will really work.

Just did a calculation. Even with the multi-line discount. It's still more ex than the previous plan
Guess it's time to change next year

Take note of the new multi-line discount terms
"To qualify for the Multi-Line Discount, all eligible lines must be under the same Hub ID account. Lines under different Hub IDs or accounts will not be counted toward the discount."

Downer for me because Hub Club just need same billing address

Guess they are trying to closed the loophole of using the same billing address

Cute. I cant change my star plan to this new 5G lite - only for new signups or from post paid.

Time to move.

Indeed. BTW, I feel the new 5G Lite plan is totally not worth it at S$22, for nearly 150 GB data, 1GB global roaming data (165 locations) and 1GB SEA roaming data (5 destinations).

They say they are working "hard" on the migration path but apparently not "hard" enough. They should have already done the job for Star SIM Only plan users before the launch of the new plans.

Switching from StarHub Postpaid to 5G Unlimited+ and 5G Platinum

2. Can I upgrade my Star Plan to a 5G Unlimited+ / 5G Platinum Plan?

An upgrade from Star Plan is currently not available. Don't worry, we are working hard to make this possible! Stay tuned.
