Technically no.

However you can apply for excuse from your OC for the period of time you going overseas with the reason. Write in to your unit. Case by case basis, OC will exercise their discretion to approve or reject.

Cause if have mob and activated, and you are overseas without official excuse from your OC, you may get charge. And we cant really use the reason of "i plan way ahead for this overseas trip", cause mob manning alert is disseminated to us 6 months prior.

Show air ticket and hotel bookings to CO when you send the email for deferment. If you booked all before the 6 months notice, they will most likely approve.

If he won't approve, it means he's guai lan and will find other ways to screw you anyway.

You have to prove to your CO, like the date you booked your tickets and/or hotel. No black and white usually is pray hard hard that your CO willing to grant you off.

Like what i was advised previously, the moment you acknowledged the mob manning callup, the period that you are on standby should not plan any leisure overseas trip as much as possible.
