Do you need to provide reason or proof of valid reason when submitting the request? Currently not under contract.

No need. Can just inform. But I think got limit to how long you can suspend one..

For Starhub it is up to 6 months at one time for Temporary Suspension of Mobile line.
Before end of 6 months you have to activate it first.
Then you can do another Temporary Suspension for another 6 months, repeatedly & continuously.

The mobile line subscription will not be applicable.
In place for this Temporary Suspension there is a monthly charge of $5.35 include gst 7%.
Payable at the end of the Temporary Suspension period.

If the mobile line is under contract, the expiry date will be extended for that period of Temporary Suspension.
Since yours is not under contract, this is not applicable to you.
