Just my wife and my line use more call and data outside home
3 kids line mainly for contact tracing them safety purpose only. They seldom use much outside home
What’s mvno? Share plan?
MVNO is mobile virtual network operator, mean they don't own the network infrastructure but rent from 3 big telco. The cons of mvno is no roaming call and no VoLTE (except M1)
For your kids usage definitely can opt for mvno (10$ line). Have 3 option at the moment depending on which telco network you prefer:
- MVNO with Singtel Network: Vivifi ($9.98 - 6gb data, 350min, 100sms)
- MVNO with M1 network: MyRepublic Lite ($10 - 6gb, 300min, 300sms)
- MVNO with Starhub network: Giga ($10 - 6gb, 100min, 100sms). Actually giga is sub-brand from starhub.
For your and your wife usage, can opt for 20$ mvno line unless you need roaming call.
- MVNO with Singtel Network: Vivifi ($14.98 - 10gb data, 350min, 100sms) OR Gomo-Singtel sub brand ($20 - 20gb, 200min, 200sms) OR Grid ($ 17.80 - 20gb, 120min, 120sms)
- MVNO with M1 network: MyRepublic Core ($20 - 50gb, 500min, 500sms) OR Circles Life ($20 - 20gb, 100min, 25 sms)
- MVNO with Starhub network: Giga ($18 - 40gb, 200min, 200sms, this pop up plan until 14 sep)
All of the MVNO option above give free caller ID.
If you really need the feature like roaming call, voice LTE, need human customer service then just stick to 3 main telco. Their charges will be higher at 25-30$ with similar amount of data as 20$ mvno, unless you have CIS plan.
Ideally if you choose MVNO for all your line will be about $20x2(you and your wife) + $10x3 (your 3 kids) = $ 70
However if you insist to stick to 3 main telco for whatever reason (like want voice LTE, roaming, human customer service), your bill will be like $ 25 to 30 x 5 = $125-150. Note that all of the main telco sim only won't have $10 plan. Their sharing also higher charge after you adding the caller id (total about $17 for cheapest sharing plan)
So take your pick
