Mobo compatibility with gfx

Would like to check 3 things.

1. My R9 270 seem to be half dead 2 days ago, so intending to get a new one. Probably a 1060 GTX (or any better value for money one now?) but not sure if it's compatible with mobo not which I think should be. Am currently using MSI B85M-G43 mobo. Length wise I think I should be fine. There's no difference between using nvd and amd right except the brand and stuff.

any lazada promo code to use to offset my purchase?

2. If I get 1060, I should probably uninstall my amd drivers first right, before loading my 1060.

3. In general, how to know whether a particular model of gfx is compatible with the mobo? im lost touch with the hardware scene liao, not sure how it evolve into now.

U can pair any gpu with any commercial consumer mobo as long as the gpu adheres to the pcie standard. So yes your 1060 will be compatible with your b85 mobo. U can always install your 1060 first, boot up into windows and uninstall yr amd drivers using DDU. No need say must die die uninstall amd drivers first.

Whether 1060 is best value for buck really depends on your budget and needs etc. as the gpu market is now chop carrot head everywhere. You could try listing down your needs then we can have more information to advise accordingly.

I don't really play much games now, only dota at the moment. Maybe can get 1050 ? Not sure what else are there. Budget wise I can actually afford for 1060, but let me know what other options I have and the price.

I think it stemmed from the early days of PCI-E or the older PCI which had different notches for different frequencies. ( physically incompatible)

Haven't seen PCI-E incompatibility for a decade now though. On Nvidia, Intel, AMD or VIA chipsets.
