Singapore is an inclusive society encompassing people of many races who practice and believe in different religions. Riling up such matters as a "question" and calling it an act of racism -- when the initiative itself was to promote inclusivity and done in consideration of others -- was viewed as an attempt to cause trouble.
As such your thread was deleted and you were given an infraction for it.
Is it perfect? No. As users have pointed out, no policy and scheme is perfect and it can be improved.
But Is it racist? Rather, I hold the view we should be more respectful and tolerant to other religions regardless our beliefs.
Any small matter can be viewed using rose tinted glasses and regarded as racist, but is it? - "Why is orange juice / cola / milk a certain colour, is it racist?" -- only if you view it as such.
And as with any race-related thread, one should be more careful of the wording used in the thread.
