I think system here means the different systems supporting the child, i.e. the different stakeholders. So school, parents, external agencies etc. Sometimes we get together to discuss about the cases, and LBS will need to join and provide insight on how the student will be supported in school. Sometimes parents will also ask you how to support the child at home.

Hi, got several questions to ask. Hope I’m not asking too much.
May I know what is Access Arrangement that you mention earlier?
Which are the agencies under MSF that you work with? For what purpose?
Does school counsellor also handle SEN?
Within the school, besides teacher, who else LBS need to work with to handle the case? Just trying to figure how the system works & the standard procedure. Does LBS need to consult anyone in school before planning/implementing programme?
Does LBS do classroom observation only when SEN has issue or is there a schedule to follow?

Not exact experience in special needs but I have had experience volunteering with children and youths via developmental programmes. There is a website (eblity.com) with a lot of good resources and courses if you would like to develop knowledge in this area.

Hi Minimalist, can I ask if the NIE diploma in Special Education is hard to study. It is full time study for 1 year. I am afraid I cannot do well in the course. During studies, is it very hard to cope with tests and project work. Are we expected to participate in CCA as well in NIE as a student.
