The ministry said that contrary to what Bloomberg reported, children will not be separated from their families. Those aged 12 years and below will stay with a caregiver, while those aged 13 to 19 years are allowed to isolate alone only with the written consent of their caregivers.

"According to our checks, all children aged 12 years and below who were under quarantine or isolation have been accompanied by a caregiver," it said.

The ministry said these public health measures apply to everyone, be it Singapore citizens, permanent residents or foreigners.

But it added that these measures are also temporary, "to give us time to learn more about the Omicron variant, and adapt and adjust our responses accordingly".

It added: "In the meantime, we seek everyone's understanding, as we implement sound public health measures to ensure the safety of our community."

Bloomberg has one single overriding agenda with respect to Singapore - which is that Singapore should fully open up and resume being a pitstop for virus-ridden foreign trash to transit, local preferences and fatalities be damned. From delta to omicron, this the one single refrain. Unfortunately, our miw and expat lovers are too inclined to agree.
If that was just it I can understand ... the problem is when open up some more, they also jjww our infection rates going up ... so what exactly the £@€# do they want? Must be able to open up fully yet infection rates will miraculously stay low? Which country has achieved that? :s8:

They just want to smear. Like I said, it probably rubs them then wrong way we don't have deaths at their home country rates.

I believe Bloomberg. Why would the complainant said something like this if it is untrue???? Furthermore, the mess that many sinkies experienced in the last wave tells a lot, isn’t it

Did MOH check with the complainant and ascertain that Bloomberg is misreporting???? What I hear from MOH statement is just a clarification of their policy. It is not a disproof of the complainant account reported in n Bloomberg. On the book, it may be true that MOH doesn’t have the policy of separate quarantine for kids. But, in reality, it is possible that the staffs may be doing something differently.

Lastly, MOH in its statement only clarified on the quarantine of kids but mentioned nothing about the issue of pets. Does this mean the pet issue is real???
