Molex enquiry

• I have got 8-pins slot available on my PSU and wish to use it to directly power up 4-8 fans which was chained together to a power-distributor circuit. The power-distributor circuit have a female molex connector.

Hence, i need something like a cable where one end is 8-pins (to pluck into my PSU to draw 12v power) and the other end is a male molex connector. Is such cable/adaptor available at sim lim square?

• I bought the EPS 8-pins male-female extension cable. Is the EPS 8-pins cable strictly meant for the motherboard or can it be used for other purpose like using it to power up case fans?

I think he probably means the other way around, ie the molex connector should be the male part instead of female part and the 8-pin connector should be the female part instead of male part.

The PSU is a female 8 pin connector. So the 8pin should be a male.

Then the molex should be a male also. 8pin (M) to molex (M), no? That's a male molex btw haha

In very simple language, i have 2 8-pins PcI-E slots on my PSU, the rest of the slots all used up. I am trying to power up all my 6 12v case fans by drawing power directly from the remaining 2 8-pins PcI-E slot on my psu.

Any way to do it? Any adapter, converter?

I saw lots of 8-pins to dual molex adapter; those which people say used to power up the 8-pins Pci-e cable via the 2 molex; attach 8-pins to gpu and then attach the 2 molex to wire coming out of the psu.

can i pluck that 8-pins pci-e (the one u pluck into your gpu) cable into the psu and expect it to draw power from my psu ?

If I read your description correctly, yes it should draw.

However, why can't you just use a molex splitter? That would make things so much simpler.

The reason is (1) My system fully max out liao, no more molex to split from. (2) I want all the fans to run at max speed 12v uninterrupted right from the PSU.
