Just bought a new ultrasharp monitor from dell and found a dead pixel. but im not sure if its a bright sub pixel or dark sub pixel. anyone can enlighten me the difference between those two. I got a white spot on a black background and a black spot on white/rbg background. the exact same spot on all background. can i get a replacement? need some advise

You can try contacting Dell, but if it's less than 5 dead pixels then hard to get an exchange... Best is you see the table in the link that you provided on your monitor pixel policy.

"During LCD manufacturing process, it is not uncommon for one or more sub-pixels to become fixed in an unchanging state. A display with a 1 to 5 fixed sub-pixel is considered normal and within industry standards."

"The Premium Panel Guarantee is premium within the industry, because it is guaranteed during the term of the limited hardware warranty to have zero pixels stuck in the "on" position — a factor that results in a bright dot on the display."

You bought from local dell site? Check the box/packaging? I think mine was on the box.

actually all the info can be google. they also got a store at funan. can go there for help if you dunno how to locate service tag.

this is how dell service tag looks like and is usually located at the bottom or back of monitor.
