Hi, need some advice on this.

Was using my PC / monitor 2 days back with no problem.
Today when I power on my PC, only see white screen on monitor.
Can hear the windows start up through my speakers.

Try turn on only my monitor (without starting PC), monitor shows a white screen before going into standby mode in a few secs. Wake the monitor up and press the menu button but no menu come up on screen.

Try my PC with another spare monitor, windows startup as usual, no problem with display.

Is my monitor spoilt?
What does the white screen means?
What should I do to rectify this monitor issue?

if you have tried with another cable and the same thing persist, yes, you monitor shld be spoil, i believe can repair but might not be worth the money, as well get a new monitor during the up coming IT show. monitor nowadays not that expensive or source for a 2nd hand one in the market place.

You followed the correct steps in testing and identifying the root cause of the problem.

1. Switch monitors. If monitor 2 works but not monitor 1, monitor 1 is the cause
2. Switch cables.
3. Switch Graphics Card (switch from discrete to onboard. You can do this via Bios)

You performed step 1 and it rectified your problem. So your monitor is likely the one that is dead. As to what you can do about it, check if it is still under warranty else, it's prob cheaper and faster to get a replacement than to try and get it repaired.

Hi, Thanks for the advice.
My monitor is about 6-7 years so I will just let it retire...
Using my spare smaller monitor for the time being. :o
