Monitor flashing issue.

Hi guys, I don't open a thread asking for help often as I will try to solve things myself usually. However, I have this bugging issue I wish to seek help from you guys.

Just finished my new Ryzen rig. Specs on the right.

My monitor is flashing randomly (on and off, once or twice everytime) after I completed the built and updated it accordingly. Initially I thought it's the Windows 10 Creator Update issue. However, when I tweak the overclocking settings on the BIOS, the monitor flashes too!

I am very sure the monitor is fine as I used to connect this monitor to my notebook without any issue. I am sure my GPU is fine as well, as I connected this to my friend's Intel rig for testing after I purchased it from a bro here. Everything is stable with Superposition and Heaven benchmark. Motherboard BIOS is up to date with version 0604. My GPU Nvidia driver is updated as well.

So, now I am left confused what causes the random flash on my monitor.

Hope you guys can lend me a hand or give me some advice what have I missed to pin point my problem. Thank you very much!

Try another power cable or socket for monitor.

Use another hdmi port from gpu?

Worst case, RMA monitor.

Just a Samsung S23C350 1080p 60Hz normal monitor. No other fancy stuff. Didn't have flashing when I first installed Windows. Only happens after all the windows update finished. Yet, the weird thing is, it flashes in the BIOS as well. Narrowing it down to either gpu or mobo :(

Will try to get hold of a new cable later. New monitor from Prism+ coming soon. Will see how it goes.

Tried this. No difference. Don't think it's Windows fault.

is the power cable from the monitor connected to an extension cable? or some multi plug that its sharing with the cpu cable? could be either of those that's loose. does it happen when someone in the house turns on or off a switch somewhere? could be some electrical interference.

put ferrite bead on monitor cable?
maybe around laptop not much interference/noise
but behind pc more interference/noise

I at first was suspecting this as well. But when I tested this in the morning at home with no one around, it still happens. Tried shaking the power plug and HDMI on both ends of the extension and the rig/monitor - cannot emulate the problem.

Notice another pattern of this problem is that it happens more frequently when i cold boot. Once the rig is on for awhile (roughly an hour or so) it happen much less frequently. I really hoping it is not the GPU or MOBO problem as I just setup this rig and don't hope to tear it apart. :(

Will try another solution after this, like changing the PCIE slot of the lower one see if the problem still exist or not. For the moment I will continue to monitor.

Update: Issue solved.

As shadow84 suggested, I change the multi plug source to another port and the monitor no longer flashes. Be it cold boot or after warm up. The initial power source is not clean. Even when usage is low and I'm sure the output is not even nearing the power limit, the interference from that port would make my monitor flash as my pc draw quite a bit of power as well, making it more prone to interference. Now my multi plug power come from another plug/source, the problem is fixed and no more flashes.

Thank you all the bros/sis(if any) who contributed to remind me where else I can troubleshoot. Arigatou gozaimasu!
