Monitor Loses Signal Intermittently..

My monitor goes off by itself to off. The screen goes blank. Have tested with a different cable and monitor and still the same. I think it is the graphics card or motherboard problem. Or even software?

Anybody has experience with this? What should I do?

How old is your monitor, your graphic card

What OS are you using? win7 home 64bit? win8 pro 64bit?

When does it turn off? eg: after POST boot up/Windows loading screen

Any beeping sound?

I just changed the monitor 3 months ago. Also have tested with my other monitor and same thing happens.

Graphic card and the desktop is 4 years old.

OS is Win 7 64-bit.

It turns off any time when I'm using the comp. Not during start-up process. Sometimes about 10mins after I start the comp, in the middle of surfing the net.

No beeping sound.

Oh, and the computer is still on and working after the monitor goes blank.

so when you are actively using your PC, your monitor suddenly turns off yes?

If that's the case, most likely its your graphic card causing this issue. If you have onboard graphics you can give it a try

4 years is good time for graphics card to go up lorry.
