Lastly gloss screen or anti glare screen?

Gloss screen is good bright and color rich as compared to anti glare matte surface.

IPS Better than LED?

I think it should be TN vs IPS. TN has very gd reponse time and can support up to 144hz, thus ideal for gaming. But, it has lousier colour reproduction and viewing angle as compared to ips. It is cheaper as well( for normal monitors).

Ips have great colour reproduction and view angles, but slower responsee time. Gd for movies, videos. A gd ips monitor for gaming would b dell u2312hm which has 8ms response time but 0.4ms of input lag. It also has an anti-glare sp on it.

u2312hm anti glare matte surface.

But color vibrancy and sleek design then is S2340L gloss surface.

Down side is if you have a strong light source then it might have a slight reflective of yourself looking at the monitor.

I saw 1 Phillips brand with 144hz. Is it good?

I believe you saw a Philips monitor showcase at SLS. 3rd or 4th floor.

Well I don't think so. Cause the price of that is fixed and no promo for that. Find dell monitors. They have discounts and a free belkin 1.4a HDMI cable.

For Samsung they have free NTUC voucher I think.

144 Hz should only be Tn panel , is good for gaming but not movie and surf net . if u buy Ips is good for movie but gaming can be abit ghostly and input lag

But is that monitor good? I mean that Philips 144hz.

I'm using that monitor now, the model is 242G5DJEB.

It is a matt screen and not bad for gaming and everyday work. Colors are not that accurate compared to my aged Dell 2711 as it is a TN panel. The good things are the monitor runs cooler and I no longer feel the heat emitting from the screen.

I was considering between this Philips and Benq IX2411T and settled for Philips since I was offered with a slight discount and comes standard with a 3 years on site warranty.

Hi, does the 144hz make a noticeable different? How much did you pay for it? I am considering the 2 monitors you mentioned too, in addition to dell 24" IPS monitor. Can't decide which to go for.

Compared to my previous Dell 27 IPS at 60hz, I find that the game play on this Philips 144hz to be much smoother. The tradeoff is the lack of colour accuracy which I can live with since I don't do much photoshop nowadays.

I have looked at the Dell too but none offer a 144hz. If there is one, I would go for Dell instead.

Between Philips and Benq, both retailed at $499 and I went for the former one since it comes with 3 year on site warranty at a slightly cheaper price compared to 1 year for Benq.

I cant remember exactly the price, either $475 or $485.
