Hi guys,

Have a headache here.

My uncles rather old computer long time ago had a no signal issue/always going to sleep. Tried it on the motherboard graphics and monitor could run. Bought a HD7750 for him and everything was ok. Recently, same thing happened but this time both hd7750 and onboard graphics could not give monitor a signal.

I assumed it was the motherboard.

My uncle decided to buy a whole new system which i assembled but kept the monitor. I fixed it at my own home with the old HD7750. Everything ran great, used it on a spare monitor at home. Passed the system to my uncle. Same day he called me and said his monitor keeps going to sleep again.

Went over, tried tested it and indeed the monitor couldnt find a signal. Tried it with a second monitor, no signal as well. Tried the onboard graphics, no signal as well.

Now my question is, is something shorting the motherboard? Its totally brand new. Lights, fans everything is running. Could the monitor have shorted it? DO i need to change the multi-extension socket? Im going to try it with a 3rd monitor tmr and see how it pans out. There were no issues with my own home monitor till i passed the pc to him and used that same monitor that couldnt get a signal on his old com. It ran fine for a while but now it appears to have screwed the new build up. Would appreciate some input.

Try reseat the RAM modules i.e. take out and put back again. It could be out of alignment during transport. Boot with 1 RAM module first.
